Former governor of Ekiti State and a Peoples Democratic chieftain, Ayodele Peter Fayose has reacted to the invitation of President Muhammadu Buhari by the members of the House of Representatives over Zabarmari rice farmers massacre last Saturday in Borno State.

Reacting on his verified Twitter handle, he said, he would be surprised, if President Buhari honours the House invitation to explain the height of insecurity in Nigeria.

According to him, Buhari wouldn’t honour their invitation because he sees the 9th National Assembly as toothless Bulldogs.

He added that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) would start chasing those who championed President Buhari’s invitation, anytime soon.

Fayose wrote:

“I will be surprised if the President honours the House of Reps invitation.

“The National Assembly that is supposed to be representing the people should know by now that in the eyes of this President, they only exist on paper because they are mere toothless bull dogs.

“Some of those Rep members at the forefront of the invitation of the President to appear before the House should expect EFCC invitation, freezing of their accounts or arrest for plotting to bring down legitimate government of the President.

“I warned.”

The House of Representatives on Tuesday at the plenary considered summoning President Buhari.

The motion was moved by members from Borno State over the killing of 43 rice farmers by Boko Haram insurgents, but the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila said it would be inappropriate for Mr President to reveal actions being taken for security reasons.

The debate on the invitation of President Buhari became rancorous at that moment.
