Breaking: EFCC grants Obiano bail

The former governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano who was detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been granted bail.

The bail was not objected by the EFCC
Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, but he said Obiano was yet to perfect his bail conditions.

Chairman of EFCC personally disclosed that the ex-governor has been bailed when speaking with journalists on Monday in Abuja on the sidelines of 5th Annual General Assembly (AGA) of the Network of Anti-Corruption Institutions in West Africa (NACIMA).

Obiano was arrested at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport last week Thursday in Lagos while he was attempting to fly out to the United States after he handed over to Prof. Charles Soludo.

He is being detained for alleged embezzlement of N42 billion while in office as governor.
