BREAKING: Akpabio declines EFCC invitation, says he suffers from pneumonia, cardiac arrhythmia

Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio who has been under investigation over fraud and money laundering in billions of naira Wednesday declined the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, invitation.

The former governor of Akwa Ibom State was invited to the headquarters of EFCC to be grilled the operatives, but he sent his lawyer, Umeh Kalu with a letter complaining that he suffers from pneumonia and cardia arrythmia which he has been booked for medical attention in an undisclosed hospital abroad.

Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and Senator-elect, Godswill Akpabio, has declined the invitation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to appear at its office on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, citing ill health.

Akpabio who may be detained by the anti-graft agency requested that the EFCC reschedule the appointment to a date convenient to its officers, preferably after the forthcoming Easter and Ramadan holidays.
