Assembly candidate attack: NNPP blames Nasarawa govt for insecurity

The leadership of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Nasarawa state chapter has condemned in strong terms the attack by unknown gunmen on a House of Assembly candidate from Doma South, Hon. Musa Ibrahim who is a former Commissioner of Environment and Natural resources in the present government before his defection to the NNPP.

The State leadership of the party called on Nasarawa State government, police and other security operatives as matter of urgency to investigate the culprits and bring them to face the wrath of the law.

The party leadership also blamed Nasarawa state government on poor security organization, saying since the attack on the candidate, there was no statement from the ruling All Progressives Congress-led government.

“Consequently, we are calling on security agencies to provide our candidates with security to safeguard their lives.

“The New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, said they would not longer condone such barbaric attack on any of its members.”
