Nasarawa LG elections: We will treat aspirants equally – Screening Commitee Chairman

In line with, Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission, NASIEC, Local Government election guidelines, political parties in the state commenced screening of aspirants who purchased interest and nomination forms to run for the offices of chairmanship and concillorship in their respective councils. adsbygoogle || []).push({});

As part of efforts to fulfil this exercise, the rulling All Progressives Congress, APC, have workout plans on how to screen their aspirants before the deadline given by the electoral body to submit names of candidates for the elections slated for October 6, 2021.

Speaking to newsmen, Chairman of the screening committee, Mr. Philip Dada had promised that the committee will perform its assignment with the fear of God.

“We are all people of integrity therefore we will not do anything contrary to what is before us. He said.

Mr. Dada also said that so far so good the screening exercise is going smoothly without hitches.

“As you can see the exercise has commenced in ernest as the aspirants are cooperating with the committee everything is in order.

He advised the aspirants to abide by the rule of engagement with a view to fast track the committee’s job, just as he seek more cooperations from those that are yet to be screened.

Mr. Dada who confirmed that screening guidelines is clear and copies were made available to all the aspirants for proper guidance which contained requirements for the exercise.

“Let me also state here that the committee has no reason whatsoever not to do justice or fairness to the all aspirants. We are working based on the party guidelines.

At the time of going to press, CAPITAL POST observed that the screening exercise is going perfectly.
