Etsu Nupe charges Kebbi Governor’s CPS to be good ambassador of Nupe Kingdom

The Etsu Nupe and Chairman Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, has charged the Chief Press Secretary to the Kebbi State Governor, Mallam Ahmed Baba Idris to be a good Ambassador of Nupe nation in Kebbi State.

He equally admonished him to protect the interest of the generality of the Nupes residing in Kebbi State for the overall unity and togetherness of themselves for the maintenance of peace and security in the state.

The traditional ruler gave the charge during the official launching of Ahmed Idris foundation which took place at his Wadata Palace in Bida to commentate his twenty one years in the throne and his 72th birth days Thursday.

He noted that his appointment as the Chief Press Secretary to the Kebbi State Governor outside his own state by the governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Nasir Idris is a complete indication of his honesty and sincerity in the discharge of his professional conduct as a journalist.

According to the Monarch, “for the governor to single you out of many indigenous Journalists in Kebbi State to appoint you as his Press Secretary, is an indication of the confidence he has in you. So my passionate request from you is that, you will continue to be a good ambassador of Nupe Kingdom in Kebbi State so that the entire Nupe nation will be proud of you at all times”.

The traditional ruler lauded the governor and the good people of Kebbi State and the Gwandu Emirate councils for the confidence they reposed on his son from the Nupe land and from Bida Emirate, assuring that his appointment as the Press Secretary to Kebbi State which is outside his own state is a complete indication of the brotherliness that has been in existence between the Gwandu Emirate and the Bida Emirate.

He then appreciated the governor for building the confidence and trust on Mallam Ahmed Idris for appointing him to serve in his government as none indigene of Kebbi State.

Speaking earlier, the Chief Press Secretary to the Kebbi State Governor, Mallam Ahmed Baba Idris, described his appointment as the will of Allah SWT and the mutual understanding that has already been established with the governor when he was a labour leader in Kebbi State.

Ahmed Baba told the Mornach that he recalled the powerful delegations he send to his Boss to appreciate him for the appointment ” and they came to extend your utmost appreciation to him.

“Since I came to Kebbi State as a state correspondent of a National Newspaper, I have established a good working relationship with the governor right from his days as a labour leader.

“We have been working together, carrying out my duty of reporting the activities of the labour in a professional way. And I have been conducting myself professionally without any biasness. This has brought us together since then.

“Also, Your Royal Highness, my appointment as the chief Press Secretary will not be complete without thanking you for the royal blessings I received from you in your palace..

“Which informed my reason of bringing down my appointment letter of the Press Secretary to you for your further royal blessing which you blessed.

“Let me assure you, Your Royal Highness, I will not disappoint you and the entire Nupe Kingdom and Bida Emirate councils. Let me also use this opportunity to inform you that the Nupe Community in Kebbi State are leaving in peace with their host Community in Kebbi State.”

Continue, “It will interest you to note that I have engaged seven Nupe indegenes in the service of Federal establishment and other agencies as a result of my relationship with the state.”

Speaking on his Ahmed Idris foundation, the Chief Press Secretary disclosed that the foundation was aimed at improving the well-being of the less privilege, vulnerable and widows in Bida Emirate for them cushion the hardship in the country.

He pledged his continued support to empower the needy in the Emirate through his foundation.

A total of one hundred and fifty-five widows and less privilege as well as the vulnerable were empowered with cash and some five kilograms of rice and other grains.
