Sunday Worship Service, 25th February, 2024: Topic: Dominion: God’s mandate for man

Preacher: Pastor Kola Oyekale

Text: Genesis 1:26-28 NLT
[26] Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.” [27] So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. [28] Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”

3 things that empower man:
1. Intimacy with God
2. Following the Principles and Laws of God.
Proverbs 22:29 KJV
[29] Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; He shall not stand before mean men.
It’s a principle that a hardworking person will be exalted before kings and not ordinary people.
Psalm 37:4 KJV
[4] Delight thyself also in the LORD; And he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Joshua 1:8 KJV
[8] This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
God empowers his word that when we follow these principles, there are rewards.
If you work contrary to them, they will not work for you.
3. Through prophetic acts.
Acts of the Apostles 20:32 NLT
[32] “And now I entrust you to God and the message of his grace that is able to build you up and give you an inheritance with all those he has set apart for himself.
The word of God has the ability to establish you. You will established this year in Jesus name.
If you are rooted and grounded in the word of God, you will be prevail over the forces of darkness.
When you are productive and you multiply your productivity, then there will be something accrued to you.
Genesis 2:7 NLT
[7] Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.
1 Corinthians 15:45 NLT
[45] The Scriptures tell us, “The first man, Adam, became a living person.” But the last Adam—that is, Christ—is a life-giving Spirit.
You have a spirit, soul and body. The image and likeness of God you have is your spirit.
The spirit talks of faith, worship and reverence. It takes your spirit to worship God.
Jesus is the life giving spirit.
Ephesians 2:1-3 NLT
[1] Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. [2] You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. [3] All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else.
Disobedience is a spirit. Your body does not belong to you. A spirit that is not serviced with God’s word is ‘kwashiokwored’.
When your spirit fails to be nurtured, your body controls you. It leads you to take wrong steps.
Acts of the Apostles 20:32 NLT
[32] “And now I entrust you to God and the message of his grace that is able to build you up and give you an inheritance with all those he has set apart for himself.
Nothing will happen to you without God’s permission.
The word of God has the ability to build you up.
If you don’t give time to God, the devil have free access to you.
If you don’t nurture your spirit, Satan will make mess of you.

Thanksgiving Service (6th April, 2025): The evidence of God’s presence

By Pastor Kola Oyekale

Text: Psalms 23:1-6 NLT
[1] The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. [2] He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. [3] He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. [4] Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. [5] You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings.

[6] Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.
God’s presence is the trusted comfort we need.
The evidence of God’s presence in your life is that you will be guided rightly.
When the shepherd is there, you don’t need to fear any evil or death.
God’s presence with you is a done deal.
Fear and God’s presence don’t work together. God’s presence silences fear.
This month of April, fear no evil because God is with you.
Fear comes because you doubt God, you don’t trust him enough to protect you.
This year 2025, the oil of God upon your head will not dry.
You’ll experience astounding victory, success and remarkable breakthrough in Jesus name.
God’s goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of your life.
The level of your relationship determines the degree of God’s presence that you can experience.
Intentionality brings you into intimacy with God.
You don’t get into that level by accident.
God’s presence leverage everything that wants to work against you.
God’s presence is everywhere but he does not manifest everywhere.
Isaiah 11:3-4 NKJV
[3] His delight is in the fear of the Lord, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears; [4] But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.
We can activate God’s presence by prayer.
Your love and passion for God evokes his presence. God will not show his presence to a man that is not passionate about him.
Service first starts from the heart.

The Minority Caucus of the House of Representatives extends warm felicitations to Muslims across the nation, urging prayers for peace, unity, and the overall progress of Nigeria.

This was conveyed in a Sallah message jointly signed by the caucus leaders; Rep. O.K. Chinda – Minority Leader, Rt. Hon. (Dr) Ali Isa J.C – Minority Whip, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Madaki – Deputy Minority Leader and Rt. Hon. George Ozodinobi – Deputy Minority Whip.

In their message, the caucus congratulates the entire Muslim Ummah on the occasion of this year’s Eid-El-Fitri celebrations, which mark the end of the sacred month of Ramadan.
They said, “Indeed, this day holds deep significance for every Muslim faithful, as it follows the successful completion of the one-month-long fasting, a fundamental pillar of Islam.
“As our Muslim brothers and sisters across the country join others around the world to celebrate this auspicious occasion, we remain confident that Allah has accepted their prayers and supplications.
The Caucus encouraged all to uphold the teachings and values learned during Ramadan, including charity, empathy, generosity, and compassion towards one another.
“The Caucus also urges Muslims—and Christians, who are concurrently observing Lent—to continue praying for the peace, unity, progress, and development of our dear country.
“We firmly believe that through earnest prayers, our leaders at all levels will be divinely guided with the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding needed to address the multifaceted challenges hindering Nigeria’s growth, which have subjected citizens to severe hardship and economic distress.
“Furthermore, the Caucus calls on the Federal Government, through its relevant agencies, to take decisive action in ensuring the safety of lives and property, especially in light of recent security concerns affecting various communities in the North West, North Central, South East, and South South regions.”

Delta women give Senate President 14-day ultimatum to apologize to Senator Natasha

A group called the Virtuous Women of Delta (VWD) has given the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, a 14-day ultimatum to tender an unreserved apology to Mrs. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

The group made the demand in a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by its Coordinator, Deaconess Eguolo Oghenekevwe.

In the statement, the group expressed their outrage over Akpabio’s alleged disrespectful behavior towards Mrs. Akpoti-Uduaghan, describing his actions as sacrilegious according to Delta’s cultural traditions.
The statement read, “We have patiently watched as the Senate President has dragged our sister through the mud. In our tradition, such actions are considered sacrilegious and carry severe consequences.”
The group further emphasized their disapproval of Akpabio’s behavior, particularly his decision to have Mrs. Akpoti-Uduaghan removed from a public space, which they found deeply disrespectful.
“The fact that he had our wife walk out of a public place is enough to make us march to the National Assembly in protest,” they stated.
The group gave Akpabio 14 days to issue an unreserved apology, warning that if he fails to do so, they will be compelled to take action and express their anger in person at the National Assembly.
The controversy stems from previous comments Akpabio made, including the use of inappropriate language referring to a nightclub, despite the fact that Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan is married to a prominent Delta man.
Akpabio had earlier apologized for his remarks, acknowledging their sacrilegious nature.
“Such words are unacceptable, especially when a married woman is involved. Our men are like lions and will not tolerate such disrespect,” the statement continued.
The Virtuous Women of Delta emphasized that, as Akpabio hails from the same geopolitical zone, he should be aware of the importance of their cultural values and traditions, which cannot be disregarded.
“We politely ask the Senate President to apologize, or face the consequences within the next 14 days,” the group said.
