2023: Okorocha tackles Pastor Bakare over ‘Igbo curse’ comment

Senator representing Imo West Senatorial district and the 2023 presidential aspirant, Rochas Anayo Okorocha has replied the General Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare

The controversial pastor in reference to the 2023 presidential election, maintained that Igbo cannot rule Nigeria because they have been cursed.

Reacting in his campaign office on Tuesday in Abuja, Okorocha who was former governor of Imo State said Igbo are an asset to the nation.

The lawmaker said, Nigeria has its peculiar challenges and that Igbo were never Nigeria’s problem.

Okorocha said: “In a recent viral video, Bakare made one statement that grabbed the attention of many Nigerian especially the Igbos.

“In his statement, he asked why no Igbo person can be the President of Nigeria?; And according to him, he was in Imo State and explained to them the reason why Igbos can’t rule Nigeria. And he claimed that he wants to remove the curse.”

Okorocha said Pastor Bakare has exaggerated his preaching when he stated that Igbo people are cursed and can’t rule Nigeria.

He however said, Igbo are not good politicians.
