Osun State in the South West might may again lost in the 2023 presidential election to opposition political party, especially the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), if the revelation of the APC Youth leader was anything to go by.

The Youth leader of APC, Osun State chapter on Thursday raised the alarm that the former governor of the State and Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and his supporters are working in cahoots with opposition elements in the State to ensure Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s downfall in the State.

Part of Aregbesola’s antics, the Youth leader maintained was part of “protest of blackmail” which he sponsored on Monday.

Addressing journalists reporters at the APC secretariat in Osogbo, the state APC Youth leader, Goke Akinwemimo,
the State Chapter of APC in Osun State was seriously blackmailed to further ensure the defeat of Tinubu in 2023 presidential polls.

Akinwemimo attributed the sponsorship of splinter groups by Aregbesola as responsible for the woeful outing of APC in the recent governorship election, adding that he openly declared his support for the opposition.

He said: “Aregbesola, under the auspices of The Osun Progressives (TOP) embarked on what can be best described as public charade and disgrace in Osogbo, capital Osun State to blackmail the state leadership of our party, All Progressives Congress.

“We are saying these to alert the national leadership of our dear party that Aregbesola and his allies are no more with APC.

“Apart from the fact that their previous actions have shown that they are working for opposition, they are equally determined to ensure that we lose other future elections including the presidential election. They are out to spell doom for our party. But we are prepared to resist them and they will not succeed.”

According to him, the protest by Interior Minister’s supporters was nothing short if a charade and a support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in disguise.
