2023: All aspirants will have level playing ground to contest – Plateau PDP assures

The Plateau Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has promised to provide a leveled playing ground for all aspirants vying for various positions under its platform in the 2023 general election in the state.

”We will be fair to all aspirants; we will ensure a leveled playing ground is provided for all of them to operate smoothly.No aspirants will be shortchanged because PDP is a party of justice, equity and fairness. As we begin the screening exercise tomorrow, I want to assure all the aspirants that they will be treated equally,” Domle said

He explained that the meeting availed party faithful the opportunity to discuss and explore strategies that would enable it take over power at various levels in 2023.

Hon. Domle added that stakeholders also harped on the need for unity among party members in the zone, insisting that such move would give it a edge toward its victory in the forthcoming polls.

On consensus, the chairman said ”we will not force aspirants to go into consensus, but any aspirant that wishes to step down for others, we shall provide room for such,”

Also speaking, former Chairman of Quanpan LGC and one of the aspirants, Hon. Isaac Kwalu, commended the party for the initiative, adding it would further consolidate its strength toward victory at the polls.

Kwalu, seeking to represent Shendam, Qua’anpan and Mikang Federal Constituency of the state, expressed optimism that the party has gained the mass support, hence would win the forthcoming polls various levels.

Another aspirant, Air Vice Marshal Napoleon Bali (rtd) described the outcome of the meeting as ‘commendable.

Bali, who wants to pick the party’s ticket for the Senate seat in the zone, also commended the aspirants’ decision to support whosoever emerged at the end of the primaries.

”By and large, this meeting provided us with the opportunity to evaluate our strengths and weakness and see where we need to make amend for the success and progress of our great party,”he said.

The aspirant also called for team work among stakeholders to enable the party win the forthcoming general polls.
