The Court of Appeal sitting in Port Harcourt will resume hearing of Value Added Tax (VAT) suit filed by Rivers State government against the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) on May 9, 2022.
Rivers State government had filed a suit against the FIRS on the collection of Value Added Tax (VAT), which claiming it has the legal powers.
It is recalled that the Office of the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, had secured injunction restraining the Rivers and Lagos State governments from collecting the VAT.

However, the Court of Appeal has moved the case to the Port Harcourt division and scheduled May 9 for hearing.
With May 9 proposed for hearing, parties have been
