Group working to raise N6 billion for Peter Obi presidential project

A group operating under the aegis of Peter Obi Support Network on Monday indicated interest to mobilise six million Nigerians to get them contribute N1,000 each to raise N6 billion for Mr Peter Obi’s presidential project.

Mr Obi was a two term governor of Anambra State on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) before he defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking at a mass rally in support of Peter Obi 2023 presidency on PDP, the Director of Strategy and Mobilization for Peter Obi Support Network (POSN), Marcel Ngogbehei said a sum of N6 billion that would be realized through the process will go a long way to boost the campaign funds of the Presidential aspirant.

Ngogbehei said Peter Obi possesses all the good leadership qualities that Nigerians look up for in a President.

He said his record as a former governor of Anambra state has shown that Peter Obi was prudent in governance.

“We need a president who can manage the nation’s economy and the resources and create wealth that would rank Nigeria among the prosperous countries in the world”

“Peter Obi has also proven that he is a responsible leader that has capacity to foster national unity and cohesion. He has short and long term plans that focus on citizens not personal benefits”.

“We want a responsible leadership with short and long term plans, focusing on citizens and not personal benefits. We have judge the contestants concerning their antecedents and Peter Obi has proved himself. When he was governor of Anambra State, he governed well. So, the Peter Obi support network is beyond him,” Ngogbehei said adding that a new Nigeria is possible with Peter Obi as President”.

Also speaking at the rally, a religious leader from Kogi state, Sheik Rufai Al-Siddiq said that the fact that he as Muslim was present at the occasion, it means Peter Obi is well accepted by Muslims in the country.

“Chance should be given to the candidate from the South East. It will build good relationship throughout the country and bring unity. Peter Obi is the best person to be president in 2023,” Al-Siddiq said.
