Breaking: Unknown gunmen invades Enugu APC meeting, kill 2 Chieftains

Unknown gunmen invaded the Enugu All Progressives Congress, APC meeting on Tuesday evening and massacred two stalwarts.

The meeting was ongoing at its venue in Enugu South LGA when the criminals invaded before they instantly killed their targets and escape

Source said several others sustained gunshot injuries, while one person was abducted.

The Enugu South Local Government chapter of APC was having a reconciliation meeting at its Ward III Obeagu Awkunanaw, when gunmen stormed.

An eye witness said, the gunmen numbering seven stormed the venue of the meeting, killing the two instantly while they dragged one person into their vehicle and whisked him away.

CAPITAL POST gathered that Enugu State APC members upon hearing the development was thrown into mourning.

The meeting was called to reconcile two factions of APC, according to reports made available to CAPITAL POST.

“The meeting was underway when these men invaded the place and shot and killed the immediate past Enugu South local government chairman of the party.

“Ezeoha was also elected as the incumbent state youth leader in one of the factions of the party. One other person I don’t know his name was equally killed instantly.

“Hon. Monday Ogbonna (Okwadike), a factional chairman of the party in our area was kidnapped.

“One person is lying critically wounded at the hospital and we don’t know his fate,” the source said.

Efforts to speak with Enugu Police spokesman Daniel Ndukwe on the development were unsuccessful as his phone line was not reachable.
