2023: People should speak out on Tinubu’s health challenge, produce evidence to stop him – Arewa

A northern Socio-Cultural group, Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) on Friday reacted to Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s declaration of his ambition to contest the 2023 presidential election.
The ACF said, people should speak out on Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s health challenge and produce evidence in order to stop his ambition as the nation cannot have a person with health challenge to govern it again.
“If people have issues or evidence about his (Tinubu) health, let them come out and speak. Let them provide evidence that he is not strong enough to contest for the Presidency or hold the office.
“The people, who have the evidence that Tinubu is not strong enough for the office of Presidency, should save us the agony of having a sick President in office. They should speak out,” ACF stated.
ACF said, it was only medical report which serves as an evidence that Tinubu is not fit for contest that can stop him on health grounds, otherwise, he has right to contest.
The reaction is coming days after the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), visited President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, where he disclosed his ambition to contest the presidential election.
The Spokesman for the Forum, Mr Emmanuel Yawe called on Nigerians to come up with evidence, in if they have, adding that without such evidence, Tinubu has constitutional right to vie for the office.
Citing the late President Umaru Yar’Adua, who was sick and died in office, he said the country was left in constitutional crisis at that time.
“So, if we know that somebody is sick, we should not allow him to take over that office. It is a serious office that will determine the future of millions of citizens. In a complex country like Nigeria, we should not allow somebody that is not medically fit to occupy such office and mess all of us up.
This, Yawe said would save the citizens of always demonstrating and asking their President to quit medical attention abroad and come back home which was an international embarrassment like they have been protesting against President Muhammadu Buhari.
