FG says ban on Twitter in Nigeria would be lifted soon

Nigeria’s Minister of Information, Culture and National Orientation, Alhaji Lai Mohammed said, ban slammed on microblogging in Nigeria would be lifted in !attermof days.
He stated this in Abuja after the Federal Executive Council meeting presided by Vice
President, Prof.
Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) on Wednesday.
Ban on Twitter will be lifted in a matter of days”.
The positive was not without conditions given to Twitter which most of them have been met, according to the Minister.
Mohammed said among those issues pending are for twitter to set up an office in Nigeria with staff to run the office as well as having the country representative.
“From our discussion with Twitter, the setting up of their Nigerian office can be effected in 2022.
The Minister was optimistic that everything will be sorted out with Twitter within a few days or weeks.
He said the Federal Government’s committee negotiating with Twitter will meet on the agreement soon to make recommendations.
