In a bid to tackle insecurity in Benue State, governor Samuel Ortom, Minister of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs, George Akume and Senator Gabriel Suswam may have buried their political differences to form a formidable force against insecurity in the State.
This came to fore on Monday as the former governors who had been arch political foes, particularly George Akume were in Benue peoples House, Makurdi to meet with governor Samuel Ortom.
Briefing journalists after the meeting, governor Samuel Ortom said, his predecessors in office were concerned about the heightening insecurity in the State, hence, they were there to chat a way forward on how to better tackle insecurity.
Ortom noted that they are all citizens of Benue State, irrespective of their political differences, adding that they was need for all of them to unite in the interest of development.
Senators George Akume and Gabriel Suswam corroborated the Governor’s words, saying that the peace and development of Benue State are above any personal interest.
CAPITAL POST observes that there is hardly any day passed without reports of Fulani herders and militant attack on communities in Benue State.
