House Deputy Speaker, Wase congratulates Okonjo-Iweala on her emergance as WTO DG

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Ahmed Idris Wase has hailed the emergance of Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala as the Director General of the World Trade organisation.
Wase in a press statement signed and issued by his chief Press Secretary, Umar Muhammad Puma, said Okonjo-Iweala’s emergence was well deserving and a testament to her world-class credentials.
He also expressed hope that the former Nigeria’s minister of finance will use her good office to put the world trade back on track in full-scale recovery from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic that has ravaged human lives.
According to the Deputy Speaker, “Dr. Okonjo-Iweala’s election today as the director-general of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) is a win for Nigeria and Africa and I strongly believe that she will deploy her wealth of knowledge and skills to good use in the course of her leadership of the WTO. ”
