Fire destroys multi-million properties, cash, other valuables in Sokoto

Assorted properties believed to be worth millions of naira, cash, documents, and credentials were on Monday, afternoon destroyed by fire, at a residence located Opposite Dogon Daji House, Maiduguri Road, Sokoto.
The cause of the inferno, which started at around 1:00pm, was yet to be ascertained, although there was no loss of life or injury as a result of the blaze .
However, our Correspondent who visited the scene of the fire incident reported that, six rooms, each with a room and a parlour, had completely been burnt to ashes.
It was also gathered that, the blaze was put out by the combined efforts of the firemen of the Federal and State Fire Service Departments, the victims and some good Samaritans.
Some of the victims, Habiba Sanusi, Hauwa’u Musa, Adeyemo Elijah and AbdulHameem Murtala, lamented that, they had lost all what they had laboured for, for several decades.
They appealed to the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), and the National Emergency Management Agency ( NEMA), to come to their immediate assistance, to alleviate their suffering.
