Breaking: Sokoto governor dissolves LG Caretaker committees

Sokoto State governor, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal on Friday dissolved all the Local Government Caretaker.Committees after a meeting held at Government House Sokoto.

In his address, the governor thanked the former Caretaker Chairmen, saying their contribution to his administration was immense in the last two years.

“All of you have tried your best for the administration during and after the electioneering campaigns.”

“All of you know that the due process is that Sole Administrators can only be in office for six months. Now you have spent two years,” Tambuwal said.

Tambuwal stated that some of the former Administrators who want to contest Local Government election were free to do so, while pledging to continue to work with some of them.

The governor further hinted that Sokoto State Independent Electoral Commission (SOSIEC) has been detailed to conduct Local Government Council Election.

Reacting, the Sole Administrator of
Sokoto North local government area, Alhaji Aminu Ibrahim, on behalf of his colleagues expressed gratitude to the Governor for the opportunity and privilege given to them to serve.

“We will remain with you at all times because we have since realized that your intentions and dispositions are for the collective good of all people of the state,” he said.

Tambuwal who is in his second term as governor of Sokoto State on the was a former Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives.
