The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, Thursday opened up on the peak of insecurity in the northern part of Nigeria, saying bandits do not only move freely, but now move into houses to abduct people for ransom.
Speaking at the 4th quarter 2020 meeting of the Nigeria Inter-Religious Council, NIREC, in Abuja, Sa’ad Abubakar who is the President of Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs lamented the deterioration of almost everything in Nigeria.
In his words of lamentation, he pointed out that even union’s price has gone up, stating that Nigerians were really facing economic hardship.
The Sultan said: “How much an onion costs in Nigeria today is an insight into the current economic hardship in the country.
“We do not lack recommendations and solutions to our problems. What we lack is the sense of purpose.”
