Nasarawa House of Assembly denies suspending governor’s aide

The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe has informed Governor Abdullahi Sule that legislators are not in crisis with the executive arm.
“We are in total support of your laudable programmes in bringing positive changes to our people.
” He told Sule.He made the assertion while delivering a speech at a stakeholders meeting to commemorate the 24 years Anniversary of creation of Nasarawa State. “Theme, “The Summit of Arms: “Examining the role of the arms of Government on the Security and Economy of Nasarawa State.
Balarabe said the rift between Managing Director of the Nasarawa Urban Development Board, Adamu Sule and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Development Control, Arch. Stanley Buba over the schedules of the two officers.
“The legislature waded into the problem with a view to bringing a lasting and permanent solution to chaos bedivilling the board in recent times, adding that, “we invited the two over the unrest in NUDB and Development Control and the SSA denied signing any documents but, after carefully examined documents before the committee it is obviously there were signed by SSA.
“He re-emphasized that the Assembly only asked the SSA to step aside to paveway for in-depth investigation’, saying the SSA was not suspended.
On the Assembly resolution and directive for the sack of former Secretary to Government of Nasarawa State, Aliyu Tijjani Ahmed, we wrote to the Governor recommending for his immediate removal from the office based on facts before no us.
According to the Speaker, the two arms of government; the executive and the legislative arm of government are working round the clock to achieve betterment of people of the state.
“Let me express our profound gratitude to Governor Abdullahi Sule for placing the State on the fast lane of development especially in the area of security of lives and properties of the people as he reeled the numbers of kidnapping that took place in the recent times ranging from the attack meted on the State Deputy Governor, Emmanuel Akabe.
“As legislators, we passed various bills into law like the anti kidnapping law, Child Right Act, Vigilante law as well as appropriation bills into law.”
He further explained that bill prohibiting rape and cultism are underway.
