Breaking: Buhari nominates new media adviser INEC Commissioner

The Senior Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on new media, Lauretta Onochie has been appointed as Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Onochie who hails from Delta State was appointed alongside three others and were presented to the Nigerian Senate for confirmation in line with the laws that set up the electoral umpire.
Part of the letter which was read by the Senate President on Tuesday at the plenary stated:
“Appointment for Commissioners for INEC. Pursuant to paragraph 14 of part 1f of the first schedule of the 1999 constitution.
Electoral commissioners are:
Prof. Mohammed Sani Katsina
Lauretta Onochie Delta
Prof. Kunle Ajayi Ekiti
Seidu Ahmed Jigawa
The letter has not been referred to any Committee by the Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim until after debate.
