Nigerian teachers get special salary scale

A new special salary scale has been approved for Teachers in Nigeria by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Buhari on Monday used the commeemoration of the World’s Teachers Day on October 5 to announce the special welfare for Teachers in Nigerian schools.
Also the number of years of public service has been increased from increased from 35 to 40.
Buhari stated these in Abuja on Monday during celebration of the 2020 World Teachers Day.
Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, who represented Buhari, said the new salary scheme is to motivate teachers for greater productivity and effectiveness.
However, the month of commencement of the Special salary scale was yet to be announced.
