Ortom laments FG roads collapse in Benue, appeals for rehabilitation

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has appealed to the FG to make its roads in the State motorable to ease transportation.
Governor Ortom who spoke on Friday in Naka said a journey of 30 minutes from Makurdi to the Gwer West local government headquarters took over two hours.
The Governor who decried the deplorable state of federal roads in the state also appealed to National Assembly Members from Benue and ministers ensure that such roads are rehabilitated.
He stated that his administration has constructed all the bridges on the road from Naka to Agagbe, stressing that the contractor handling construction of the road had been mobilised and if not for the COVID-19, work would have been completed.
He said his administration would continue to give priority to urban and rural infrastructural development within the limit of the resources at his disposal.
The Governor also promised sustained construction and rehabilitation of schools across the state, adding that those in Gwer West Local Government Area which had not received attention would be captured in subsequent planning.
