Gender Based Violence: Borno Women Affairs Commissioner calls for an end

Saddened by the incessant violence against the women, Borno State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Gambo Zuwaira the vulnerable nature of women in our society should not be an in-road to all forms of abuses.
She stated this at a rally organised by the Ministry at Musa Usman secretariat in Maiduguri, to sensitise women folk, boys, girls on the need to protect the sanctity of womanhood.
Mrs Gambo restated the present adminstration’s commitment under the ledearship of Professor Babagana Umara Zulum to gender parity, semblance, rather than gender based violence against the women.
Hajiya Gambo decried the attitude of some men who indulge in all forms of violence against women, saying ‘No To Violence Against Women. ‘
She emphasised that women should not only be exposed to rape and all other forms of atrocities capable of portraying them negatively.
The women Commissioner appealed to government at all levels, corporate bodies, public spirited individuals and organisation to give women special attention rather than violating their rights to live.
