Ekiti man, 50, defiles four year old, remanded in Correctional Centre

A Chief Magistrate’s Court has ordered detention of a 50 year old man, Usman Tajudeen on Wednesday for defiling a minor.
The accused was remanded on the orders of Court at the Correctional Centre in Ado-Ekiti.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Monica Ikebuilo, explained in Court how the accused defiled a four year old female minor on 21st August, 2020 in Ikere-Ekiti.
The prosecutor told the Court that the defendant and the victim’s parents were neighbours, saying: “The defendant and the victim’s parents were neighbours. The victim’s mother noticed that blood was coming out from the victim’s private parts. When the mother asked her, she confessed that the defendant invited her to his house.
“The offence contravenes Section 31(2) of the Child Right Law of Ekiti State, 2012. ”
The prosecutor sought for detention of the defendant pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions, while the defendant’s plea was declined.
Chief Magistrate Adefumike Anoma adjourned the case till September 18 for mention.
