Breaking: Buhari writes NASS, seeks approval for N7 billion for Akeredolu 2-weeks to election

Nigeria’s National Assembly on Tuesday disclosed receipt of President Muhammadu Buhari’s request seeking its approval of N148 billion for Ondo, Rivers, Bayelsa, Cross River and Osun States as refund for federal roads constructed
President Buhari’s request was read by the President of the Senate, Dr.
Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan.In the letter, Ondo State governor, Rotimi Akeredolu would get N7 billion even as he faces governorship election on October 10th.
Like Rotimi Akeredolu who is recontesting governorship election on the platform of ruling All Progressives Congress, Nigeria Senate at Buhari’s request similarly approved N10 billion Kogi State governo, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, few days to the election.
The approval was heavily criticised by the opposition lawmakers particularly, the Senate Minority leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe.
The request was however, referred to the Committee on Works and Finance.
