ICDA crisis: BOT Acting Chairman lack powers to dissolve EXCO – Sadiq

As crisis rocking the Igala Cultural and Development Association deepens, the National President of the association Amodu Abubakar Sadiq said, the Board of Trustees Action Chairman, Dr. Simeon Oyigu lack constitutional powers over a properly constituted ICDA EXCO.
He said the BOT Acting Chairman cannot dissolve the Executives under the constitution of ICDA currently, noting that such action would amount to ‘ultra vires’, because the EXCO had been properly constituted to administer the affairs of Igala apex body.
In a statement he sent to CAPITAL POST on Friday, Sadiq berated the Acting BOT Chairman, saying that he should stop deceiving the people.
“Association that is guided by constitutional provisions will not entertain petty talks by known dubious and unproductive people.
“I challenged Dr. Simeon Oyigu to convince the public where has such power to dissolve elected National Executive Council of ICDA comes from.
“I therefore wish Muslim faithful a happy Eid Kabir and people to remain focus on Igala unity rather listening to microscopic people causing confusion.”
