Nine reportedly killed in armed robbery attack in Kogi

Dare devil armed robbers reportedly invaded a branch of the First Bank in Isanlu, Kogi West Senatorial District on Thursday with nine persons killed.
Those killed were eight Police officers and one civilian.
Reports said robbers went to the Police station and killed the DPO, two policewomen, and four policemen while one policeman was killed at the bank’s premises.
The other victim who was hit by the stray bullet died.
The armed robbers were said to have invaded the Police Station about 1.00 p.m. and opened fire on all officers and men on duty.
They also set free all detainees in the detention facility.
The robbers later proceeded to the bank where they killed one policeman and carted away money.
The Police Public Relations Officer of Kogi Command, William Ayah, confirmed the attack to journalists, saying that the command was yet to ascertain the number of casualties.
