Insecurity: Kaduna residents panic over life threatening ‘heavily armed’ militia group

Residents og Kaura Local Govenment, the concerned Kaura Youth Coalition and the National Association of Takad Youths have alerted security agencies of tje existence of a militia camp on Zangang Hill in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

In a joint statement issued and signed by the Presidents of the youth group, Abin Vincent and Derek Christopher in Kafanchan, they raised the alarm that, ‘the hill has become the ground where militia are being breed, and as it stands now over 600 armed men are being accommodated by the hill.”

While calling on the relevant security agencies to intensify effort against them, the group revealed that every member of the militia group is possessing heavy weapons, and this has made the community residents to be leaving in constant panic.

The group explained that the Takad and Sholio were being killed daily at the same location, noting that the killings that happened in Zangang and Addu are not unconnected to this militia group.

The statement revealed that the main purpose of the attacks and occupation are linked to the mineral deposits, and the green vegetation of the entire Southern kaduna. The youths expressed anger and sadness over the touring and plundering of their land by the militia group.

“We also appeal to Kaduna state government to increase the military presence in Southern Kaduna for the security of lives and properties from the hands of the militias.
