Edo guber: Obaseki consults Nwike, keeps mum over outcome of meeting

The embattled Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki on Sunday met with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Nwike without revealing outcome of the meeting.
His impromptu visit might not be unconnected with plans to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) having been disqualified to contest for a second tenure of office by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
It is recalled that Obaseki was visited by ten governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress who have advised him not to defect to the oppsition Peoples Democratic Party.
Obaseki was disqualified from contesting the APC primaries over discrepancies in his HSC and NYSC certificates by the APC screening panel on Edo governorship election.
Political watchers believe that he was disqualified over running battle with the party’s National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole rather than certificate discrepancies.
