COVID-19: Bello spends N795 million tracking pandemic in the State – SSG

Niger State governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has disclosed that the sum of N795 million has been spent so far monitoring the coronavirus pandemic in the State.
He said the State government has not gotten any financial aid from the Federal Government as being insinuated in the State.

Represented by the Secretary to the State government and Chairman of
the State COVID-19 Taskforce, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmed Matane, the governor told State House of Assembly that the fund was from the State account.
The SSG who was accompanied by the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Muhammad Maikusidi in response to questions by the members of the State Assembly further disclosed that another N410 million was spent on palliative in the State.
Meanwhile, checks by CAPITAL POST on the official website of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) as at 13th June, 2020 showed that Niger State government has recorded 49 COVID-19 cases with 20 confirmed cases.
