There was deadly rival cult clashes at Ankpa in Kogi East Senatorial District on Sunday leaving one dead, while others sustained various degrees of injuries.
The clashes happened at the popular Sunday market at Ankpa township.

“After the violence subsided, a cult member belonging to another group was caught and one of his hand was amputated this afternoon.
“In the course of fighting each other, they normally retreat to higher institutions around to reinforce themselves in numbers in order to engage each other.
Names of cultists involved in today’s violence could not be ascertained as at the time of this report, but sources further confirmed that some groups were drawn from the Kogi State College of Education, Ankpa.
