El-Rufai on Saturday, personally revealed that he was tested positive for the coronavirus.

“My family has been inundated with calls asking about the health and safety of my father especially given the number of visitors he received on arrival to Lagos, and a number of contacts he had who have either tested positive for COVID 19 or were in contact with persons who tested positive. adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I am issuing this statement on behalf of my father”

He went on by wishing the governor of Kaduna state quick recovery by saying;

“First of all my father and entire family are praying for his excellency Governor Nasir El-Rufa’i and all those infected with COVID-19. My father would like us to remember that this disease is normally a mild one, not worse than common flu, and 98 percent of those infected are cured. Over 80 percent do not need hospital and recover at home by adhering to all recommended protocols.”

“Governor El Rufai submitted himself to the test out of abundance of caution as he had no symptoms so we are all hopeful for a quick recovery In Sha Allah. Our hearts go to him and his family in these times. And we are proud that he has continued to lead the effort to protect the state from spread of the virus even when in isolation.”

About his Dad’s health, he said;

“As for my father, on March 25, he and all our mothers submitted samples for the COVID 19 test. These samples were taken at home under the supervision of Dr. Alero Roberts, the second vice Chairman of the Association of Public Health Professionals. On March 27th Dr Roberts conveyed the results and all of them were Negative. “

“We hope this information will allay the concerns of all those who are asking. However my father will still like to urge Nigerians to stop reacting to adverse test results as if they were a death sentence. COVID 19 is no respecter of persons or status. The prince of Wales has it. The Queen of England may have it.”

“Most people should shake it off in less than two weeks and sensationalizing results or stigmatizing the disease does not speak well of us as a peopĺe. We pray Allah to protect all of Us, to grant health to those infected with minimal loss of lives and bring an end to this pandemic that threatens to bring the whole world to stand still.”

“This statement have been issued with the approval of my father.” He added
