Bayelsa governorship: Constitutional crisis looms as Oshiomole vows to stop Duoye



The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Comrade Adams Oshiomole has vowed to stop the swearing-in of Diri Duoye who was declared winner by the Supreme Court on Thursday.

Angered by the judgment, Oshiomhole at a press conference in Abuja, threatened to issue Court injunction to stop the inauguration billed for Friday.

He said neither PDP’s Diri Duoye nor any other person who contested the November 16th 2019 governorship has the constitutional spread.

“No other candidate has the constitutional spread to be sworn in as governor”, the judgment lack fruit of justice.

Meanwhile, the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Nwike has cautioned APC Chairman against unguarded utterances that would set the nation on fire.

He wondered how Oshiomole who was losing out his godfatherism battle with Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki is trying to forment trouble.

Reacting to the judgment, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said it would abide by the Court’s directive.

“INEC has retrieved its certificate of Return from David Lyon and issued the PDP candidate in line with the Court directive.”
